Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMs) bring the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ to the members of the assembly who come forward to receive Jesus during the celebration of the Eucharist. We are called to this ministry by virtue of our baptism. We are asked to carry Jesus into the world. In order to become an EM, you must be a registered parishoner of St. Louise de Marillac. You must have received the sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation, be a practicing Catholic who lives out their faith and who truly believes that the consecrated bread and wine are the Body and Blood of Christ, and at a minimum of high school age.
New EMs must attend one training session that usually lasts two hours.
